Welcome Vegans and Vegetarians!
The Austin Vegan & Vegetarian Association (formerly the Vegetarian Network of Austin) is Austin's longest-serving family-friendly social and educational vegetarian group, active in promoting vegetarianism in Austin since 1996. We aim to make it easier for new people to find out about vegan and vegetarian resources, businesses and activities in Austin.

The AVVA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, and charitable contributions are tax-deductible. If you're interested in helping support the AVVA's efforts, we encourage you to join as a member so you can vote in our officer elections, serve on committees, and volunteer at our events and for our activism efforts.

Our events are scheduled through our two VegAustin groups on Meetup.com:

VegAustin Potlucks

We have three potluck hosts, one on the northeast side of Austin and two in the south. Our potlucks are relaxed and informal, and we welcome everyone, including singles and couples, families with children, new vegetarians and vegans, and especially people who are "veg-curious". The potlucks are currently scheduled on an irregular and rotating basis.

The one important consideration, regarding dishes to bring for our potlucks, is that they need to be vegan, meaning no animal products at all. This makes it so everyone in our group, vegans and vegetarians, can eat anything at the potluck.

For information on when and where we schedule our potlucks, and the ability to RSVP to invites, please join our potlucks meetup group at Meetup.com to get emails of our potluck announcements.
VegAustin Meetups
We also have a group for social gatherings, restaurant dine-outs and other events. Please join our VegAustin Meetups group at Meetup.com to get those event announcements in your email.

You don't have to be vegan or vegetarian to attend our events, but we ask that you always bring a vegan dish to our potlucks and order vegetarian, preferably vegan, at our restaurant visits.
